Festival Safety and Support Guidelines
Your safety and comfort are our top priorities as we explore love, consciousness, intimacy, and relating together. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, please review the following guidelines:
Consent and Boundaries (Mandatory workshop)
To create a shared understanding of consent and boundaries, attendance at one of the consent workshops on Saturday morning at 10.30am is required. During this workshop you will learn specific tools to help you be aware of your boundaries and navigate interactions within the community effectively.
Voluntary Participation
Apart from the consent and boundaries workshops. Participation in all activities is entirely your choice. You are encouraged to listen to your comfort levels and may opt out of any activity at any time, even during an exercise that has already started.
Sexual intimacy
This is a Tantra Festival and we want it to be a sacred and safe place for all, which means we allow no exchange of explicit sexual activity beyond kissing and caressing in public areas. Enjoy lovemaking in the privacy of your own love den and use safe sex practices.
Triggers and Activation
This event has been created as a community container to explore love, consciousness, intimacy and relating. It’s natural that you might feel activated during these experiences. If you get activated we encourage you to look at ways to regulate your nervous system. If you find that you are not able to regulate your nervous system and need support, we have an Emotional Support Team on site you to support you during festival hours. Our triggers can be potent avenues to growth and to deepen our understanding of ourselves.
Emotional support
Emotional Support Team
We have an emotional support team that is here to support you throughout the festival. Tantra has the power to unlock profound emotions and illuminate the deepest corners of our beings. As we delve into some of these transformative practices, the body may reveal remnants of past experiences, including traumas we may not have been aware of. This can be scary, confusing, or a myriad of other feelings.
Our trauma informed team understands this complexity, and will offer a nurturing space for you and potential challenges that may arise. With deep respect for your vulnerability, we are here to create the safest space possible where you will be met with compassion and empathy. All feelings are welcome here.
Please know that the Emotional Support team is available for support, nervous system regulation and processing but is not a replacement for therapy.
Sharing Circles
We have supportive sharing circles where you have a chance to share with a group and create a feeling of mutual support and a safe harbour of people that you know. These circles are meant to be nourishing and supportive.
Photography and Video
We ask that you do not take any photos or video during the festival as we like to keep a safe container where people can feel free to open up. (With the exception you can take photos of yourself or friends as long as everyone shown in the photo or video consents).
We will have official photographers and a videographer capturing photos and videos at the festival. Krista and Naomi will also take photos and videos. This media will be used for future promotions of the Heart of Tantra Festival through print, web, and social media and for Krista Nova, and Naomi Prema Devi promotions.
If you do not want your photo taken, please inform us below and email a photo of yourself to heartoftantrafestival@gmail.com. This will help us identify you and inform our photographers and videographers not to capture media of you.
Cell Phone Access & Wifi
There is no wifi provided on site, and cell phone service can be spotty in places. We invite you to explore having a tech free weekend or use cellphones minimally to enjoy the beauty of nature and in person connection. Audio recordings of workshops is not allowed.
